Derek V. Williams, P.E.
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Williams is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Vision Land Consultants, Inc. He has over eighteen years of engineering, construction and development experience and serves as the Principal-in-Charge of projects. His tasks are to provide guidance in the initial phases of the project schedule, and coordinate Engineers, Designer, Drafters, and Sub-Contractors on the project. He also provides overall management of the Company, oversees customer/client relations and marketing of the Company. Mr. Williams is also responsible for finding land for development projects (commercial and residential) and obtaining the necessary financing to purchase the land and construct the project. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the States of Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and Virginia.
James Godwin
Vice President of Operations
Mr. Godwin has over 24 years of experience in the design and construction of major infrastructure projects. Before joining Vision Land Consultants, Inc., Jim worked with Forest City Stapleton, Inc. redeveloping the nation’s largest in-fill project at the old Stapleton Airport in Denver. In addition to his expertise in urban development, he has extensive experience in land development and transportation engineering including utility, roadway, grading and drainage design. Randy R. Hergenrether, P.E.
Senior Project Manager / Rifle Branch Manager
Since joining Vision Land Consultants, Mr. Hergenrether has worked on numerous civil engineering projects as Senior Project Manager. His tasks have included Project Management, residential and commercial developments, roadway design, storm drainage designs, parking lot and roadway drainage facility designs, hydrology studies, utility plans and utility relocations, grading and erosion control plans, hydraulic design for channels and channel improvements, flood plain delineation and cost estimating.
Douglas Richter, P.E.
Principal / Division Manager
Mr. Richter has over twelve years experience as a Civil Engineer and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado and Michigan. After graduating from Michigan Technological University, he decided to move to Colorado to start his career. Since joining Vision Land Consultants, Inc Mr. Richter has worked on numerous civil engineering projects as both a Project Manager and a Project Engineer. His tasks have included single and multifamily residential subdivision designs, commercial site designs, drainage facility designs, roadway designs, hydrology studies, utility designs, erosion control plans, flood plain delineation and cost estimating.
Don Cabrera
Director of Construction Management
Mr. Cabrera has over 23 years of experience in major Infrastructure projects ranging from Geotechnical, Quality Assure, Quality Control, Construction and Project Management in Residential, Commercial, Heavy Highway, Stadium, and Telecommunications. Don's project experience includes Coors field, E-470 Toll Road, Northwest Parkway Toll Road, Denver International Airport, Level (3) Communications and State Highway 45 in Austin Texas. Before joining Vision Land Consultants, Don was a Project Manager for PBS&J in Austin Texas working on a 800 million dollar Toll Road Project for the Texas Department of Transportation. Since joining Vision Land Consultants Don will continue assist with the Business Development, Marketing and over site of Vision lands Consultants on going and new Construction management projects.
BILL HAYNE, P.E.
Senior Project Manager / Division Manager
Mr. Hayne has been involved in the Grand Elk development from its inception, working alongside the development team as well as the Town of Granby watching this Master Planned Community evolve form a meadow into a community. Mr. Hayne was responsible for the Master Drainage and Master Sanitary Sewer study for the development. He also designed the civil portions of all of the single-family villages within Grand Elk as well as most of the multi-family villages and the Grand Elk Crossing commercial Center. He also assisted in the procurement and acceptance of the civil infrastructure of the development.
Mr. Hayne also has experience in working on Municipal projects. He has, for the last five years, assisted the Town of Granby in assessing their infrastructure needs and getting them constructed. Taking projects from the conceptual design, through final design and documentation onto bid processing and procurement and finally to acceptance and payment. He has also worked, in cooperation with local municipalities, on projects with FWHA grants requiring Davis Bacon wage rates and provided the project management and documentation for such projects. Mr. Hayne has also worked with Silver Creek Water and Sanitation, Three Lakes Water and Sanitation and the Granby/Silver Creek Water and Wastewater Authority in a number of facets to assist in accomplishing their respective objectives and goals.
Mr. Hayne has also work small developments in Grand County ranging from the single-family residences that need assistance with building permits and HOA’s reviews to town home and condominium projects involving over a hundred units.
TIM GAGNON, P.E.
Senior Project Manager / Granby Branch Manager
Mr. Gagnon has thorough experience in road design including horizontal and vertical alignment, super elevation, at-grade intersection, safety sections and guardrail design for both new road alignment and the re-alignment of existing roads. He is also competent in other aspects of civil engineering design including traffic studies, utility design, grading and drainage, cost estimating, construction observation and erosion and sediment control.
Mr. Gagnon has a thorough knowledge of numerous local and federal road standards and he, and the G&H staff, have represented Grand County as their County Engineer for the last six years. He has also managed the design and coordinated construction for numerous Grand County Road and Bridge Department projects. He has been the design engineer for Access Permits and Notice to Proceed applications for the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and he has a steady working-relationship with the CDOT review engineers in Region 3 ( Grand Junction).
Mr. Gagnon has assisted Clients from preliminary site layouts to obtaining final approvals from local agencies. He has managed the civil engineering portions of projects involving numerous local municipalities including: the Towns of Granby, Grand Lake, Fraser, Winter Park, Kremmling, and others including: Silver Creek Water and Sanitation District, Granby Sanitation District, Town of Granby Water Department, Three Lakes Water and Sanitation District, and the Town of Grand Lake Water Department. He has also assisted private developers through the subdivision review process and is a valuable resource for Client’s looking for other local design professionals including: architects, geotechnical and structural engineers, land planners, land development attorneys, and general contractors.
