In the heart of Aurora, Colorado, the former Fitzsimons Army Medical Center is being transformed into a state-of-the-art, integrated life sciences community. The concentration of exceptional talent, vision and extraordinary facilities at Fitzsimons will provide opportunities for collaboration and resource-sharing that will benefit global health care and improve people's lives.

The 578-acre Fitzsimons site is undergoing a $4.3-billion renovation and transformation into a square mile dedicated to excellence in-patient care, education, basic science research and bioscience research and development. As projects are completed during the next 20 years, the Fitzsimons site will evolve into one of the most advanced bioscientific communities in the world.

The redevelopment effort is anchored by the 227-acre campus of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (UCHSC) and Hospital (UCH) and the affiliated 160-acre Colorado Bioscience Park Aurora. The proximity of these anchors will provide significant opportunities to transfer discoveries into the stream of commerce at an accelerated rate.

With unprecedented support from city, state and federal entities, the Fitzsimons master plan calls for up to 15-million square feet of phased new construction. At buildout, more than 32,000 people will be employed at Fitzsimons.

Forest City desires to replat and develop around 53 acres of land located within the Fitzsimons Redevelopment Authority. Vision Land Consultants will be providing the design and coordination of the following:

  • The preparation of necessary site plans and construction documents for the Site Plan (SP) Application to the City of Aurora for Fitzsimons District A and C Streets and Supporting Infrastructure. 
  • An analysis to support this development against the IMP as well as surrounding offsite existing utilities will be required.
  • The preparation Street and Utility Construction Plans for the proposed development Construction Administration for the above named improvements.
